Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven have confirmed that their Europa League clash with Arsenal scheduled for next Thursday will go ahead as earlier planned.

There were fears that the Group A clash could be rearranged following the postponement of Premier League matches after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Metro UK, all Premier League, Championship, WSL and even grassroots fixtures set for the weekend were scrapped as a mark of respect for the Queen.

However, all the seven Premier League sides involved in European action are set to play their matches as earlier planned.

PSV announce Europa League trip to Emirates still

PSV have now clarified that their Europa League clash with Arsenal will be played at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, September 15, and will not be affected by the postponement of matches.

In a statement released by PSV, the Dutch club said:

"Arsenal vs PSV update: the match will be played in London with supporters."

It is understood that the Met Police informed Arsenal on Friday that they were ‘comfortable’ with the clash against PSV being played.

Chelsea are the other team that will be in action in London in midweek, with the Blues set to host RB Salzburg in the Champions League.

Arsenal kick-off Europa League campaign with win over FC Zurich

Earlier, Sports Brief reported FC Zurich vs Arsenal Europa League clash ended in a 2-1 victory for the Gunners at the AFG Arena.

Marquinhos and Eddie Nketiah were on target for the Premier League side giants, with Merlind Kryeziu scoring Zurich's consolation.

The win has Arsenal topping Group A after PSV Eindhoven settled for a frustrating 1-1 draw with Bodo Glimt in the other fixture.
