Time wasting is killing football says Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi
Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngithi has a bee in his bonnet.
Mngqithi has called out teams that partake in intentionally wasting time during matches in an attempt to neutralise a superior opponent, Sports Brief reported. He called on the authorities to take a firmer stand on this negative tactic.
Mngqithi was speaking following a frustrating but dramatic DStv Premiership match against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha. Peter Shalulile struck an injury-time winner in a 1-0 victory to send the defending champions to the top of the table for the first time this season.
