Bayern Munich president, Herbert Hainer has revealed that the target of the German champions is to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
The Bundesliga champions have been grouped alongside Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Viktoria Plzen in group C in what has been dubbed the “group of death” by football followers.
Herbert Hainer has now admitted Bayern Munich are in the toughest group in this season’s UEFA Champions League but expects the Bavarians to still qualify, SB Nation reports.

“It’s not an easy group, there are two international heavyweights in Inter and Barcelona, and we won’t underestimate Viktoria Plzeň. But I am convinced that we will advance.”
Bayern Munich will travel to Italy for their UEFA Champions League group C opener against Inter Milan at the San Siro stadium on Wednesday, September 7.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mane, Serge Gnabry, and Thomas Müller tops the list of 23 players submitted by Bayern Munich for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, Independent reports.
Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich, Matthijs de Ligt, and Alphonso Davies also made the Bundesliga champions list as Bayern Munich set their sights on their first group game against Inter Milan.
Bayern Munich are aiming to win the UEFA Champions League for the 7th time in the club’s history after successes in 1974, 1975, 1976, 2001, 2013, and 2020.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Thomas Müller hopes goal scoring will not be an issue for Bayern Munich this season following the departure of Robert Lewandowski this summer.
Lewandowski joined Spanish La Liga giants, Barcelona on a 3-year deal after ending his 8-year association with the Bundesliga champions this month.
Müller has now reckoned the Bavarians will miss the services of Lewandowski but they will still remain a successful club without him.
