Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal is still coming to terms with his recent brush with crime.

The defender became the latest footballer to be targeted by criminals in Spain.

As reported by The Mirror, criminals attempted to break into Carvajal's home last week.

“They tried to access the house and they couldn't because of the security system. They were looking where they could access, but everything was closed. The security system did its job well,” he said.

Carvajal and his family were not at home at the time.

He added that it was a big scare and the first time that something like this had happened to him.

Carvajal also believes that footballers are now becoming an easy target by criminals.

“Football players are an easy target. They know when we play and when we don't,” he added.

Carvajal’s robbery comes on the back of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s home invasion. The former Barcelona forward and his family were targeted by a group of armed men, Bleacher Report reported. The Chelsea star was assaulted, suffering a broken jaw in the process. His wife and children were also threatened. The men stole many multiple valuable items from the safe, including jewellery.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea’s bid to sign Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is facing serious threats after it was confirmed the striker is suffering from a fractured jaw.

Aubameyang’s Barcelona home was attacked by thieves in the early hours of Monday morning, with the robbers carting away several of the striker’s pieces of jewellery

According to Football Espana, Chelsea are sceptical about moving on with their bid to sign Aubameyang from Barcelona as the forward will be out for a few weeks due to his injury..
