Bayern Munich celebrated legendary defender Samuel Osei Kuffour on his 46th birthday after sending the former Ghana centre-back and his newly-born baby jerseys of the club.

The ex-Black Stars and Bayern Munich player turned 46 on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

In a heartwarming video posted on Twitter, Bayern's Sports Director and a former teammate of Kuffour, Hasan Salihamidžić, is seen printing the name of the club's legend and his son on the jerseys.

The 46-year-old enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Germany with Bayern Munich, winning several titles, including the UEFA Champions League.

Sammy Kuffuor spent 12 years at Bayern Munich, winning six Bundesliga titles and four DFB Pokals.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana and Bayern Munich legend Samuel Osei Kuffour has shed light on naming his son, Osei Kuffour Jr, after Munich, the capital and most populous city of the German state of Bavaria.

Kuffour's immense talent was spotted in Ghana's victorious 1991 FIFA U17 squad, but it was at Bayern Munich that the Kumasi-born defender became a household name.

The 45-year-old defensive stalwart had a stellar eleven-year stint with the Bavarians, playing nearly 250 with a truckload of trophies to boot.
