Newcastle had gone ahead via new signing Alexander Isak who showed great composure and precision to put his side ahead in the first half.

But Jurgen Klopp's men laboured their way back after Mohamed Salah laid off a pass to Roberto Firmino, who found the far corner past Nick Pope in the Newcastle goal.

Klopp was irritated by Newcastle's time-wasting tactics as the game wound down. The fourth official had initially indicated five extra minutes, but due to Pope's lengthy treatment on the pitch, the game carried on until the eighth minute.

New signing Fábio Carvalho scored with the last kick of the game, sending Anfield into wild celebrations. It is here that fans caught Joel Matip hitting the ground furiously with his fists.

The style can be liked to popular wrestler Randy Orton, which is part of his signature RKO move. The Sportster explains that it stands for the Randy Knockout. The WWE wrestler often uses it to knock out opponents. Most of the time, an opponent rarely survives the countdown after being RKO'd.

Member of Newcastle technical bench seen throwing an object at Liverpool's bench

Sports Brief had earlier reported that one of the members of the Newcastle United technical bench appeared to throw something toward Liverpool faithful after the Magpies conceded a 98th-minute goal.

Tensions galore on Wednesday night during the Newcastle-Liverpool game threatened to spill into mayhem at full time.

Youngster Fabio Carvalho was the one who inadvertently angered the away team with his last-gasp winner that helped Liverpool come from a goal down to claim all three points at Anfield.
