South African coaching received another image boost, this time in Europe.
Former Bafana Bafana international Steven Pienaar has received his UEFA Pro Licence, joining the likes of former national teammates Benni McCarthy and Quinton Fortune to reach this point in their career.
According to iDiski Times, the UEFA Pro License is the highest coaching qualification certificate in Europe and allows any holder to manage in the top tier of a European nation’s league system on a permanent basis. Holders are also permitted to manage in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Pienaar tweeted:

"Schillo", as Pienaar is fondly known, received his papers after working with the Irish Football Association. He is currently working at old club Ajax Amsterdam with its youth ranks.
