  • Liverpool are looking to finalise a deal for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, with the deal viewed as a short-term measure to solve Liverpool's midfield injury crisis
  • The 26-year-old Brazilian international joined the Italian giants from Barcelona two years ago but has since not lived up to expectations
  • Liverpool are currently without Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to injury, with captain Henderson damaging a hamstring in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Newcastle

Brazil and Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo has been spotted at the airport travelling to the United Kingdom ahead of his loan move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.

Liverpool are trying to sign the Juventus midfielder on a season-long loan as manager Jurgen Klopp seeks to address his 'never-ending' midfield crises.

The 26-year-old Brazil international is set to undergo a medical with the Reds on Thursday, September 1, as the Merseyside club seek to complete a deal before the transfer window closes.

The club's need for a midfielder before the deadline has heightened amid fears captain Jordan Henderson is set to face an injury lay-off.

The Englishman was subbed off during the second half of Liverpool's come-from-behind victory against Newcastle at Anfield.

He has joined the growing Liverpool injury list of Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as midfield absentees ahead of this Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton.

Klopp reveals Liverpool are working seriously on potential signings to address injury concerns

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Jurgen Klopp said on Friday, August 26, that Liverpool are "working constantly" on potential new signings as the Reds try to deal with the injury crisis that contributed to their dismal run.

Klopp has brought in Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay since the end of the last term.

But Liverpool have been rocked by a host of injuries and are still waiting for their first Premier League win this season.
