But perhaps better than that, a notoriously Barcelona fan ditched the Catalans giants to openly support their rivals Real Madrid in Catalonia.

The Clasico rivalry is so intense that it is considered taboo to represent both Spanish giants.

However, a fan dared to turn his back on one of the Spanish giants and ended up sporting the jersey of the other.

A certain fan by the name of Chuck Borowski has become a public enemy after he decided to switch from Barcelona to Real Madrid.

According to him, he was even attacked and abused by Barcelona supporters for wearing a Real Madrid Vinicius Junior's jersey on the streets in Catalonia.

"I used to be a Barca fan but I've lost faith in them-now I support Madrid," he tweeted.

"As I was wearing my Vinicius shirt in the streets of Barcelona, I was attacked by angry Ecuadorians, they spit in my face and poured coffee on me."

"People get married and divorced,why can't I switch clubs?!"

There is no suggestion the Real Madrid ace did anything wrong but it is unclear what prompted the incident or who was involved.
