FootballHowever, a fan dared to turn his back on one of the Spanish giants and ended up sporting the jersey of the other.
A certain fan by the name of Chuck Borowski has become a public enemy after he decided to switch from Barcelona to Real Madrid.
According to him, he was even attacked and abused by Barcelona supporters for wearing a Real Madrid Vinicius Junior's jersey on the streets in Catalonia.
"I used to be a Barca fan but I've lost faith in them-now I support Madrid," he tweeted.
"As I was wearing my Vinicius shirt in the streets of Barcelona, I was attacked by angry Ecuadorians, they spit in my face and poured coffee on me."
"People get married and divorced,why can't I switch clubs?!"
There is no suggestion the Real Madrid ace did anything wrong but it is unclear what prompted the incident or who was involved.
