It was his second goal of the season in back-to-back games. However, Frank Lampard's charges were denied their first win of the season after Luis Sinisterra scored his first Premier League goal for Leeds United 10 minutes after the break.
But the incident after the game formed the basis of widespread reactions on social media. In the video spotted by Sports Brief, Gordon is seen approaching a fan who is clearly elated to see him.
The man is holding a child donned in a blue hoodie. Gordon talks his way past the steward and as he approaches the man, he appears to let go of the child who falls down. Rather surprisingly, the man doesn't immediately follow up to see if the child is okay.
A shirtless Gordon then bends down to check on the child before helping him back to the stands. The man is seen holding a pink jersey, Everton's away kit this season.. Sports Brief cannot confirm if it was Gordon's jersey, nor can we confirm if the child in the video was the father or related in any way to the man.
