Manchester United announce the signing of Antony
Man United have now officially announced the signing of their summer target, with the forward becoming the Red Devils' fifth signing of the window.
In a statement posted on United's official social media accounts, the club announced:
"Manchester United has reached agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Antony, subject to a medical, player terms being finalised, and international clearance."
Antony has enjoyed a steady rise to prominence since he joined Ajax from Sao Paulo.
The Brazil international now becomes United's fifth summer acquisition and the second Ajax player to reunite with Ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.
Antony to make debut against Arsenal
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning to unleash new Manchester United summer signing Antony against Arsenal.
PSG terminate former Manchester United midfielder's contract
FootballGiven that the 22-year-old requires a work permit and visa, United's clash against Leicester on Thursday, September 1, would come too soon for him.
Reports suggest the star winger has a chance to feature against Leicester City should his paperwork be done by Wednesday midday.
However, it is unlikely Ten Hag would have him make his debut within that time frame, with reports suggesting the Dutchman would be keen to have his latest acquisition bond with his new teammates through training.
