It was a tough night for PSG as a resolute Monaco side frustrated their efforts for the better part of the evening. The game ended with a one-all scoreline, bringing to an end Christophe Galtier's perfect start to the season.
Neymar scored from the penalty spot in the second half to extend his fine run of form this season. The Brazilian's goal cancelled out Kevin Volland's effort in the first half.
Just before half-time, Mbappe and Lionel Messi combined outside the penalty area, with the latter unleashing a ferocious shot. Monaco's goalkeeper Alex Nubel was well-beaten but was grateful to see the Argentine's shot hit the post.
The rebound fell kindly to Mbappe, who had an open net gaping in front of him with Nubel still dealing with the aftermath of Messi's cross.
However, and rather surprisingly, Mbappe failed to sort his feet out and could only ram the post once again as Monaco survived.
