• Meant to kick off at 15:00, the Premier Soccer League's match commissioner had to delay the match's start by 30 minutes
• This was to allow spectators, a majority of them being Amakhosi supporters, to get into the venue

Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs' MTN 8 quarterfinal clash at the Danie Craven Stadium had to be delayed by half-an-hour, earlier.

Meant to kick off at 15:00, the Premier Soccer League's match commissioner had to delay it to allow spectators into the stadium. Unsurprisingly, an overwhelming amount of them were Amakhosi supporters.

The stadium, which seats 16 000 people, was eventually filled up at kick-off for the sold-out fixture. There was video footage of a crush nearly taking place at one of the entrances.

This led to chatter on social media about the Chiefs' status as the most supported team in the country.

Orlando Pirates became the second team to reach this season's MTN 8 semifinals.

As reported by Sports Brief, the Buccaneers defeated Royal AM 2-1 in an entertaining quarterfinal clash at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
