  • Cristiano Ronaldo had another camera moment before the Southampton match on Saturday, August 27
  • The Portuguese superstar threw water on BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand’s shoes in a hilarious prank
  • He was started on the bench by Erik Ten Hag for a second successive game

Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in another interesting moment during warm-up on Saturday, August 27 as Manchester United prepared to face Southampton at Saint Marys.

Unlike the previous week, when the United forward courted controversy by blanking Jamie Carragher, spirits were a bit high, presumably because of the win against Liverpool.

Also, the fact that Rio Ferdinand was among the people on punditry duty at Saint Marys also seemed to have lifted Cristiano Ronaldo’s spirits.

As Ferdinand was making a point about the match, Ronaldo took advantage and shot spurts of water at his former teammate’s shoes.

Ferdinand was clearly irritated at first but one he saw who was responsible for the prank, his mood changed immediately as he could only exclaim, “Not the suade bro!”

Paul Scholes and former Liverpool man Peter Crouch also saw the funny side to the whole incident and they could not hold back their delight.

As far as the game is concerned, Ronaldo was started on the bench alongside his former Real Madrid teammate Casemiro, who recently signed for the Old Trafford club.

United were a much-improved side as they looked to build on the 2-1 win over Liverpool five days earlier, and they deservedly got the lead 10 minutes into the second half through Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese midfielder got on the end of a brilliant team move to guide the ball home from a Diogo Dalot cross.

Casemiro, the new £60m acquisition from Real Madrid, also managed to come on as a late substitute.
