  • British sportscaster Andy Jacobs has fumed at Kai Havertz's lacklustre performance since the inception of the season
  • Chelsea have only mustered a paltry three goals in three Premier League outings with none of the attackers getting on the scoresheet
  • The Blues have allowed Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on loan earlier this summer and Timo Werner has also departed for RB Leipzig as Tuchel seeks reinforcement upfront with a keen interest in Aubameyang

Kai Havertz's slow start to the season has attracted a scathing attack from British sports radio personality Andy Jacobs.

Havertz is yet to score in as many games played this season and his overall game was a far cry from his usual display during Chelsea's embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Leeds United last Sunday.

The 23-year-old is not the only Chelsea forward struggling to find his goal-scoring boots with the entire Chelsea attacking machinery labouring for goals, which has prompted calls for the signing of a striker to augment the forward line.

Fuming at the club's lack of goals, Jacobs - who works with talkSPORT - did not hold back in assessing the performance of the German attacker.

"We’ve had three games, the front players haven’t scored a goal. Do the others get a look in? No, because he just keeps picking the same team." Jacobs said via SportBIBLE.
"Havertz, he drives me mad. Somebody on the Chelsea website is right, he says Havertz plays like he’s working from home.
"That's exactly what it's like, he phones it in. He’s useless. What’s the point of the bloke? Once every 10 games, he might do something. He doesn’t affect the game."

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz joins a growing list of football stars holidaying in Africa

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea ace Kai Havertz joined the long list of football players travelling to Africa for the summer as he was spotted on a wild safari on Saturday, June 18.

The German attacker shared interesting snaps of himself while on a tour in South Africa, enjoying the African sun and wildlife.

If his caption is anything to go by, Havertz has been in South Africa for a little over a week, and he seems to be loving every minute of it.
