Al Ahly is in a state of flux following surprising developments in the club's boardroom.
The club's 'football company' has resigned from its duties, a decision that was barely accepted by the board of directors.
According to KingFut, this division deals with the handling of transfer matters as well as the management of the football team.
A club statement read:

“Al Ahly SC board accepted the resignation of the Al Ahly Football Company’s board during their meeting that was held tonight at the club’s premises in Gezira.
“The club’s board thanks the company’s board, including Yassin Mansour, the company’s chairman, Moustafa Fahmy, the company’s vice-chairman, and Alaa Abdelsadek, the club’s board member, for their cooperation and efforts during the previous period.
“Also, the club’s board called for an extraordinary general assembly for Al Ahly Football Company to discuss the resignation and to elect a new board for the company.”
Reasons for the mass resignation are not known, but the report stated that local media in Egypt pointed to dissent towards the board by the company as a reason. The main point of contention was that the former wanted current coach Ricardo Soares sacked, with the former keen on keeping his services.

As reported by Sports Brief, the Egyptian giants are reportedly already looking to replace Soares following a poor start to his reign in Cairo. The Portuguese replaced Pitso Mosimane in June after the latter unexpectedly called time on his coaching tenure with the Red Devils in May.
