The Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper has been at the centre of intense transfer speculation as the window draws nearer to a close.

England’s Manchester United were rumoured to be lining up a move for the shot-stopper. The club wanted to bring in a reputable keeper with David de Gea producing a mixed bag of performances.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Trapp confirmed that he received an offer from Erik Ten Hag’s side but rejected them in favour of staying with Frankfurt.

The 32-year-old was instrumental in Frankfurt winning the Europa League trophy and explained that he made history with Frankfurt and wanted to stay with the club, despite the rocky start to the season.

Both United and Frankfurt have endured tough starts to their seasons. United have played three games, winning one and losing two, while Frankfurt have played three games, drawing two and losing one.

Frankfurt also took to social media to share the news, lifting the spirit of the fans in the process.

Trapp isn’t the first player to reject a move to Old Trafford this transfer season. Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong reiterated that he didn’t want to move to the English side, despite United and Barcelona agreeing on a fee for his services.
