Players of the Super Falconets of Nigeria have been stranded in Turkey as the girls were made to sleep on the airport's floor days after crashing out of the 2022 Under 20 Women's World Cup.
Falconets won all the three group C matches to earn a maximum of 9 points, but their superb performance was put to a halt in the quarter-final when the Netherlands beat them 2-0.
It was a disappointing result for the Super Falconets and their coach Christopher Danjuma explained that his girls were punished by the Netherlands because of the mistakes they made.
According to multiple reports and a post made by respected Nigerian reporter Andrew Randa, Super Falconets left Costa Rica on Monday, 22 August, at 6:30 am and were pictured sleeping on the bare floor and chairs at the Istanbul Airport after staying in one spot for 24 hours.
