- The former Ghana captain has been without a club since leaving Accra-based team Legon Cities in 2021
Former Black Stars midfielder, Charles Taylor, believes it will be a bad decision for coach Otto Addo to send Asamoah Gyan to the World Cup in Qatar.
Asamoah Gyan is not ruling out a return to the senior national team ahead of the World Cup after revealing his desire to play in Qatar.
However, Charles Taylor, who was teammates with Gyan in the Black Stars during the mid 2000's feels the 36-year-old is unfit for the tournament.
"We have regular fitness and match fitness. Even those who get injured and return struggle to hit the ground running," he said on Angel TV as quoted by footballghana.com.

"We are not talking about history, we're looking at current performance. He has done his bit for the country," he added.
"A fit and firing Gyan will have a free ride to the World Cup but let's ask what he is training for? We have two months to the World Cup so if you can't we should add you.
"I don't think any competent coach will entertain this. We can't take someone who is not playing for any club."
