Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reacted to Casemiro's stunning transfer to Manchester United.

De Jong has been a top transfer target for United all summer, with Erik ten Hag initially keen to have him within his ranks at Old Trafford.

However, there are reports the Dutchman is unwilling to join the Red Devils, despite efforts by the Red Devils to sign him.

On Monday evening, August 22, eagle-eyed Man United fans spotted that he had liked an Instagram post announcing the arrival of Casemiro at the Theatre of Dreams.

According to Metro UK, video footage circulated of Casemiro's arrival at Old Trafford ahead of his presentation to fans.

The publication adds that De Jong was among the thousands of Instagram users who engaged with the video by 'liking' the post in the midst.

Man United still interested in Frenkie de Jong

De Jong's social media activity came at a time United are still pursuing his signature.

The Mirror reports that United transfer chiefs have travelled to the Catalan capital to attempt to revive a deal for the Dutch midfielder.

It is understood that the meeting was scheduled by Barca to speed up a sale of the player, whom they are desperate to cash in on.

The ex-Ajax superstar was part of Barcelona's team, which hammered Real Sociedad 4-1 over the weekend.
