Want-away Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in an interesting exchange with his former captain Roy Keane on Monday, August 22.
Ronaldo, who dropped a bombshell a few weeks ago that he wanted to leave Old Trafford, was one of four players to be dropped from Erik Ten Hag’s starting line-up for the Liverpool game.
Luke Shaw, Fred and Harry Maguire were the other big names to be relegated to the bench following United’s 4-0 humbling at the hands of Brentford.
Ten Hag’s decision to leave Ronaldo on the bench was the subject that dominated the pre-match conversation, particularly among Sky Sports pundits.

The trio Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Keane were on match coverage duty at Old Trafford and around 20 minutes before kick-off, Ronaldo made his way to the touchline to have a quick chat with his former teammates.
Neville was without a microphone so it was difficult to make out what was said in the conversation with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
With Roy Keane, however, the mics managed to capture every word that was said.
"Where have you been?" Ronaldo started, seemingly referring to Keane’s sun tan.
Keane snubbed Ronaldo’s initial question, instead opting to quiz him about being on the bench.
"On the bench?" Keane asked to which Ronaldo replied: "What do you want me to do?"
"Be in the team." Keane replied to which Ronaldo also responded while walking away, saying “I know”.
