Super Eagles Star Calvin Bassey Makes Adorable Statement After Making Debut For Ajax

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has expressed happiness after making his debut for Ajax in the Dutch League with the Nigerian producing excellent performance.

The Nigerian should have played for Ajax in their first two games of the season, but he was red carded in the Johan Cruff's Cup and was suspended.

And while making a return to the Ajax's team, he played 90 minutes as they defeated Sparta Rotterdam 1-0 in what was a tough encounter.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Calvin Bassey explained that he is happy to have gotten his debut for Ajax.

“It is a blessing to make my starting and league debut for this club. I keep working to improve every game. I’m trying to learn and get better.

“It’s about different positioning, the spaces and which passes we want to give. Of course, the game looks different from the side than it does from another perspective. They try to help me and make it easier for me.

“Ajax is known for tiki-taka football. You have to move into other rooms to receive the ball. It’s about learning and building connections with the team. I have to learn what certain players feel comfortable with. We have to work on it every day.”
