The most unsurprising news of the year has emerged in the form of Percy Tau parting ways with Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder followed in the footsteps of compatriot Pitso Mosimane - who had brought him to the club - after a short and frustrating spell at English club Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to SuperSport, Tau enjoyed regular game time while under Mosimane in Cairo, having signed for the Egyptian Premier League side in 2021 under a two-year contract. He made 22 appearances, finding the back of the net 5 times in that time.

Meanwhile, the Red Devil's mortal enemies Zamalek were officially crowned as the champions of the Egyptian Premier League after their closest rivals Pyramids FC (for whom South African Fagrie Lakay plays) dropped points last night. This ensured back-to-back titles for the storied team, and their 14th overall.
Al Ahly, on the other hand, looks set to finish in a disappointing third place, which has jeopardised Ricardo Soares' job security, having only replaced Mosimane in June.

FootballAl Ahly coach Ricardo Soares might just be a man in trouble if rumours are to be believed.
As reported by Sports Brief, the Egyptian giants are reportedly already looking to replace Soares following a poor start to his reign in Cairo.
The Portuguese replaced Pitso Mosimane in June after the latter unexpectedly called time on his coaching tenure with the Red Devils in May.
