Borussia Dortmund manager, Edin Terzic was not pleased with his team and the way they were outclassed late on in their first Bundesliga defeat of the season against Werder Bremen.

BVB had a late collapse against the newly-promoted side, losing 3-2 at the Signal Iduna Park despite leading 2-0 as at the 88th minute of the encounter.

“We weren’t able to take control of the game, kept giving away chances. Still, when you lead by two goals until the 88th minute, you simply have to win the game. The way we then conceded the goals was brutally stupid and annoying.”

Lee Buchanan, Niklas Schmidt, and Oliver Burke all scored late on for Werder Bremen to stun the Borussia Dortmund supporters inside the Signal Iduna Park and Edin Terzic has admitted his team deserved to lose.

Marco Reus admits Borussia Dortmund were punished

After Borussia Dortmund’s late capitulation against Werder Bremen, BVB captain Marco Reus has admitted his team were punished for being too fortunate USA Today reports.

Dortmund had relied on luck in their previous two Bundesliga games as the Black and Yellows scored two late goals to defeat Freiburg last weekend in a similar fashion to their loss against Bremen.

Never before in the league had a team conceded three goals after the 88th minute, as Dortmund did in throwing away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at home.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Borussia Dortmund suffered its first Bundesliga loss of the year on Saturday, August 20 as Werder Bremen defeated them 3-2 after scoring three goals in injury time.

Dortmund had raced to a 2-goal lead and looked on course for all 3 points before a late collapse against the newly-promoted Bundesliga side in front of their home supporters.

The defeat ends Borrusia Dortmund’s unbeaten start to the 2022/23 Bundesliga season after victories in the first two matchdays.
