  • Romelu Lukaku shone on his return to the San Siro as Inter Milan breezed past Spezia in the Serie A
  • The Belgian had an assist and also hit the post in his side’s 3-0 win
  • The Nerazzuri are among the favorites to win the Scudetto again this season

Inter Milan were thoroughly dominant against Spezia as Romelu Lukaku marked his return to the San Siro with a goal on Saturday, August 20.

Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Joaquin Correa all got onto the scoresheet as the Nerazzuri continued their flawless start to the new Serie A season with a 3-0 win.

Inter needed a last minute winner to beat Leece in their last game but there were no signs of struggle this time as they exhibited their class from early on.

Lukaku was reunited with his former strike partner Lautaro Martinez and the pair combined brilliantly for Inter’s first goal.

The Belgian’s nodded pass was met by Martinez, who rounded off the move with a lethal finish.

On the brink of half time, Lukaku almost got onto the scoresheet himself, but his effort hit the woodwork.

That would matter little, however, as Calhanoglu would go on to get his side’s second of the day early in the second half.

Joaquin Correa then added in a third late on from Edin Dzeko’s pass to round off what was a dominant display from Inter.

Other Serie A games

In the other games on Saturday, Domenico Berardi’s strike was enough for Sassuolo to beat Leece 1-0.

Lazio drew with Torino 0-0, while Udinese also forced a goalless draw against Salernitana despite ending the game with 10 men.
