Leicester City are set to retain the services of Jamie Vardy for two more years after the 35-year old penned a new two-year contract with the club.

Vardy was subject to some speculation in recent weeks, and the most recent rumors suggested he could potentially join Manchester United, who are looking to reinforce their attack.

The striker grew up in Sheffield and started his football career in Sheffield’s youth system but was released aged 16.

It was at Conference Premier club Fleetwood Town that Vardy started attracting interest from fairly big clubs, and eventually, Leicester City took a chance on him when they acquired his services for a fee of £1 million.
