Former Nigerian international Efe Sodje has finally spoken about wearing a bandana while he played football professionally.
Sodje, who played as a defender for Nigeria between 2000 and 2004, is famous for tying a scarf on his head while in action.
In a chat with Peter Akinbo of Nigerian outlet Punch, the 49-year-old narrated how he ended up wearing a bandana, saying it originated from his mother.
Sodje said:

“It was a request from my mum, but I could say it is a lucky charm. My mum asked me to wear it, so I started to wear it in 1994/95.
“As an African boy, especially a Nigerian, you can’t question your parents. I just got along with it, and I think I am the only person in the world that has worn it while playing football.”

Meanwhile, Jay Jay Okocha had a filled day during a Champions League game between Turkish club Fenerbahce and Italian giants Juventus.
Conte, who captained the Serie A side during the game, had more than enough to handle as Okocha delivered a masterclass throughout 90 minutes.
Although it was Juventus who won the game inside the famous Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium 1-0, the Nigerian international stood out.

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has named Austin Jay Jay Okocha as one of the most skilful players he has seen in football.
The former Nigeria captain is revered globally for his trickery and magic on the ball.
Stephen Appiah played against both players during his playing days. He faced a Nigerian team with Okocha and the Brazilian team featuring Ronaldinho at the 2006 World Cup.
