Kylian Mbappe is convinced his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or are still bright after extending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe opted against joining Real Madrid this summer after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with the French champions.
The 23-year-old forward poured cold water on reports that he has decreased his chances of claiming the ultimate individual accolade by rejecting a move to the Spanish capital.
"Real is a machine for Ballon d'Or's, it must be recognised," Mbappe told L'Equipe as quoted by 90Min. "There is real know-how. But the most important thing is yourself."

"It's not your club that will get your Ballon d'Or, but it's you first. And I remain convinced that I will be able to win it one day in Paris."
The Frenchman was the only player from PSG to be named on this year's 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or with teammates Neymar and seven-time winner Leo Messi conspicuously missing from the list.
