Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Eboue is responsible for arguably one of the most inadvertently hilarious moments in World Cup history.
On June 25 2010, Ivory Coast took on South Korea in an interesting encounter in a World Cup group clash at the Mbombela Stadium in South Africa.
During the game, South Korea’s coach Kim Jong-Hun called on his captain Hong Yong-Jo to briefly discuss some tactics.
Interestingly, Eboue thought it would be a good idea to also try to hear what was up in the South Korea camp, and he cheekily followed Yong-Jo as he made his way to the manager.

Eboue would go on to exhibit body language that seemed to suggest he understood everything that was being said between the two South Koreans, which was obviously not the case.
And the whole incident was hilariously caught on camera.
Eboue’s take on the incident
Six years after that World Cup, Eboue appeared in an interview where he admitted he had no idea what was being said at the time.
“That time, I honestly don’t know what was going on in my head at the time. But people aren’t going to forget about it.” He told The Telegraph.
“When their coach called his captain over, I went close to him, nodded and said, ‘OK, no problem, I understand, yeah?’ He said to me, ‘You speak Korean?’ I said, ‘No, but I understand a little bit’ and he was laughing.
