Manchester United are reportedly targeting five new signings before the summer transfer window shuts
The Premier League will close the ongoing transfer window on Thursday, September 1, after a close to the three-month activity of transfer business.
Having missed out on a Champions League spot, United were projected to have a busy window that would have seen the club sign more quality players.
However, the window has been the direct opposite, with the Red Devils offloading more players than they have signed.

United have signed just three players so far, bringing in Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.
Man United targeting five more players this summer
According to reports, Erik ten Hag could be boosted with five more signings in the coming days to help him strengthen his current squad.
The Telegraph reports that the Dutchman is pushing for additions in the right-back, two midfielders, another winger and a new striker.
The publication claims United are therefore hoping to sign five players before the transfer window closes.
The five players include Borussia Dortmund Thomas Meunier and Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.
Also shortlisted in the wishlist is former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is currently plying his trade in the La Liga with Barcelona.
