Anthony Joshua Sends Tough Message to Oleksandr Usyk Ahead of Their Big Fight

Nigerian and British boxer Anthony Joshua has vowed that he won't be showing his opponent Oleksandr Usyk any mercy when they meet again on Saturday, 20 August, in a fight that is expected to be challenging.

Joshua admitted that last September when he lost, the mindset was to outbox his opponent, whoever it was, and now, he is fully focused on smashing.

The expectation of many Nigerians was that Anthony Joshua would be able to beat Usyk, but they were all disappointing with how he was beaten.

According to the reports on Sky Sports and Punch, Anthony Joshua stated clearly that his main focus now going forward is to smash the face of any opponent.

“I wanted to outbox my opponent, whether it was Usyk or anyone else; that was the mindset in the first fight. I wanted to outbox my opponent and on Saturday I want to smash my opponent.

“That’s just the mindset now.
“I was amateur for three and a half years and I done a lot in that time and I asked myself how? It wasn’t down to the skill element, because I was outclassed in terms of skill and experience by a lot of my competitors on the world scene, but that aggression.''

Two Boxers to Get Huge Cash Rewards As ₦1.5million to Be Shared at GOtv Boxing Night 26

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how the winner of the 2022 GOtv Boxing Night 26 is set to receive much more money in the 2022 edition of the GOtv Boxing Night 26 scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria.

The competition which is scheduled for 20th August at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium will see two boxers share the sum of ₦1.5million.

This is in addition to the traditional cash prize of ₦1million for the winner while the runner-up, a new will go home with ₦500,000 as eight bouts are expected to take place in this year’s competition.

Jenkins Alumona, Flykite Productions CEO and organizers of the GOtv Boxing Night, also disclosed this is done to reward the boxers for their hard work.
