FootballSporting News reported that the bandages are there for medical reasons. In 2019, Benzema broke the pinky finger on his right hand during a game against Real Betis.
The French striker required surgery to fix his finger, but the operation and rehab would have sidelined him for two months. Benzema opted against surgery and returned to playing for Madrid.
