Sam Allardyce has hailed former Super Eagles captain Jay-Jay Okocha claiming that the Nigerian was his standout player when he was in charge of Bolton in the Premier League.

The Englishman was at Bolton in England between the year 1999-2007 and even though he did not win any significant trophy at the club, Sam did well.
Jay-Jay Okocha on the other hand was at Bolton between the year 2002-2006 featuring in 124 games netting 14 goals.
According to the report on GOAL, Sam Allardyce explained that he was pleased with the skills of Okocha during his time in the Premier League.

“I was fortunate enough to go and pick out some of the players who were absolutely outstanding for Bolton in that time.
“I think probably the one who stood out the most for everybody was Jay-Jay Okocha because of his ability and skill, and the entertainment that he actually brought to the Premier League, not just for Bolton fans of course.
“He was, for me, a fantastic captain. We had a fantastic array of players over the years and like I said before, I thoroughly enjoyed working there.”
