Following the draw, the Saints, who lost their opening match of the league season to Tottenham, now move up to 15th position on the table.

And the social media space is already awash with the goal of the Nigerian international who has now registered himself in the English topflight.

A fan wrote on Twitter:

“Nigeria’s Joe Aribo celebrating his first Premier League goal. We are proud of you boy.”

Another added:

“Joseph Aribo with an instant impact off the bench, the Nigerian pulls one back for Southampton.”

One said:

“Great comeback from Southampton today by all accounts and nice to see Aribo & Mara looking the business. Just need to ditch the back 5 experiment for good and things can look a bit rosier.”

Arsenal defeat Leicester City 4-2

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Gabriel Jesus got his first Premier League goals as an Arsenal player as the Gunners maintained their 100% start to the Premier League with a win over Leicester City.

The Brazilian could have easily gotten a hat trick as he also missed a host of chances but walked away with a brace in the 4-2 win on Saturday, August 13.

Leicester once again reduced the deficit to one through James Maddison, but Arsenal answered almost immediately, this time through Gabriel Martinelli.
