The South African Football Association has kept its promise with regard to Banyana Banyana.
The local football governing body has paid the senior women's national team the R400 000-plus bonus to each member of the squad who returned with the Women's Africa Cup of Nations trophy from Morocco.
According to Sport24, SAFA's financial manager Gift Sekonde said:
"We've honoured the commitment made by the president Danny Jordaan to pay the players R400 000 that they were promised. The 23 players have indeed been paid on Friday. We made the payment with a wide smile, and we're happy to say we've honoured the promise, and the incentive was approved with a smile."

The winnings included an initial R9.2 million pot of gold that was presented as an incentive by SAFA, before the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture also opened the purse strings by adding R5.8 million to this amount.
SAFA president Danny Jordaan added:
"The bonus scheme was for the players, and the coaches will be rewarded according to their contract. Staff members get bonuses that are linked to their contracts that are separate from the players."
