  • Klopp says he is happy with his current squad and there are no intentions of buying more players in this transfer window
  • The Reds currently have a lengthy injury list, with Thiago Alcantara the latest addition
  • Liverpool made a slow start to their season, coming from behind twice to force a 2-2 draw against Fulham

Jurgen Klopp appeared to rule out the possibility of the club making more transfers in the summer transfer window despite their injury crisis, particularly in midfield.

Thiago Alcantara was the latest Liverpool player to be relegated to the sidelines for at least six weeks as the Spaniard only lasted 50 minutes against Fulham in the Reds’ opening Premier League game.

At the moment, Liverpool are without the services of Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield, although Keita is likely to make a return soon.

Despite the mini-crisis, Klopp, in his latest press conference, subtly ruled out suggestions that Liverpool would seek reinforcements in the transfer market.

"If there was the right player and an opportunity, we would have done it, we would do it, but I don't see it because we had a lot of conversations already and it doesn't look like something will happen," He said in the presses as seen by SunSport.
"I'm happy with the strength, size and quality of my squad but we have injuries. There are plenty of solutions for it. One of them is the transfer market, but that only makes sense if you can bring in the right player.”

As far as transfers are concerned, Liverpool were recently linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes, but pulled out of the deal due to the player’s hefty release clause.

Liverpool did not make the best of starts to their Premier League campaign as they were forced to a 2-2 draw by a resurgent Fulham, who are back in English top flight.

Their next game is a tricky fixture against Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace on Monday, August 15, with Klopp expecting another tough outing.

"It's the same for Crystal Palace but much better of course to play at night-time," he added. "It shouldn't be a comfortable game at all."

Michail Antonio on why it is difficult to play Man City

Elsewhere, West Ham striker Michail Antonio brilliantly explained why it was difficult playing a team like Manchester City.

Antonio spoke at the back of the Hammers’ 2-0 defeat to the defending champions in a game where £51million signing Erling Haaland scored twice.

'Their system is liquid. It's liquid. It can't be contained,' he told BBC Sounds.
