Midfielder Juan Mata has reportedly turned down lucrative offers to move to the Major League Soccer as he still wants to play “at the highest level in Europe”.
Mata, 34, is currently without a club after leaving Manchester United in June, but The Sun reports that he remains ‘patient’ over his future.
He still believes he has the quality to continue playing in Europe at top level, and will bid his time until the right offer comes his way.
Marca further reports that Mata is very enthusiastic and is eyeing more silverware in the twilight years of his football career.

He was also part of the bright Spain side that won the World Cup and Euro silverware in 2010 and 2012.
It makes some sense that Mata is not keen on moving to the Major League Soccer, which has largely been perceived as a retirement league for footballers who were once on top of their game.
Recently, former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale joined the league, signing a deal with Los Angeles FC, while Wayne Rooney returned to DC United as a manager.
