Anthony Modeste has taken to social media to pen an emotional farewell to FC Koln fans after sealing a move to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Modeste had spent 7 seasons with the Bundesliga side but had to jump on an offer from Dortmund who were seeking a cover for Sebastian Haller who had been diagnosed with a testicular tumor.
According to Bulinews, Modeste's transfer to Dortmund has led to anger among Koln fans, with some claiming that the move was fueled by money but the 34-year-old has revealed that was not the case.

"Despite what many might think, I'm not leaving for the money. I turned down big offers from the Gulf countries.
“I have always had the dream to experience the Champions League, and this opportunity has now come my way. I don't think it will come again."
Modeste had a fantastic record with Koln as the 34-year-old had scored 79 times in just 156 appearances for the Bundesliga side but has now penned a 1-year deal with Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are not done strengthening their squad this summer as the Bundesliga side are now considering making a move for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
According to The Guardian, Hudson-Odoi wants to leave Chelsea after Thomas Tuchel left him out of his side’s 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and Dortmund has indicated an interest.
