Olympic gold medalist Marcell Jacobs has finally met AS Roma's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.

The 100m champion shared his time with the Portuguese gaffer during AS Roma's final pre-season friendly against Shaktar Donetsk.

In photos posted on social media, Jacobs is delighted to meet Mourinho and he was presented with a replica AS Roma jersey.

The Italian became the first European to win the 100m race at the Olympics after clocking 9.80s in Tokyo last year.

Jacobs also become the first to win gold after an era that has been dominated by Usain Bold came to an end.

Meanwhile, AS Roma rounded up preparations ahead of the new Serie A season with a 5-0 victory over Shaktar Donetsk.

The Rome-based club also held an introductory session for players as the team prepares for next week league opener against Salernitana.

AS Roma sign former Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is set to become AS Roma's latest signing in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Georginio will be in Rome on Thursday with his mandatory medical test slated for Friday morning before his official unveiling to the supporters, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The former Liverpool star joins the Giallorossi on a season-long loan with an option to buy for €8 million. Roma will pay €5 million, around 50 per cent of his salary.
