Paul Scholes has singled out the duo of Fred and Scott McTominay for blame following Manchester United's embarrassing defeat to Brighton on Sunday, August 7, at Old Trafford.
United were hoping to kick off the new Premier League season on a positive note under the tutelage of the new boss, Erik ten Hag.
However, the Dutchman was handed a reality check during his Premier League bow as his side lost 2-1 in front of the home fans.
Two first-half goals from Pascal Grob condemned United to a humbling defeat, with Alexis Marc Allister's own goal in the 68th minute earning the hosts a consolation.

Paul Scholes slams Fred, McTominay after Man United defeat
Scholes, a Man United legend, has now taken a swipe on the performance of Fred and McTominay during the defeat.
The former England international described United's first-half performance as 'shambolic' as he singled out the midfield duo for blame after the loss.
"It was a shocking start for Man United and the first half was shambolic really," Scholes told Premier League productions via Metro UK.
"With Fred and McTominay, he [Ten Hag] is going to have to play just one of them [going forward] but even one of them is probably too many," he added.
