Liverpool began the new season of the English Premier League in an unconvincing fashion as they were held to a two-all draw by Fulham.
Aleksandar Mitrović was Liverpool's tormentor-in-chief as the Serbian scored twice. He first rose highest to head in the opening goal in the 32nd minute before winning a penalty which he duly converted in the second half.

Mitrović picked up from where he left last season where he finished as the Championship's top scorer. He linked up well with new signings Palinha and Andrea Perreira who gave a good account of themselves.
Liverpool's new signing Darwin Nunez came off the bench to equalise for Liverpool with a wonderful piece of skill. He then assisted Mohamed Salah to once again restore parity after Mitrovic had scored from the penalty spot.
Virgil Van Dijk was guilty of giving away the penalty after he failed to deal with some quick feet from Mitrovic.
Luis Diaz and Neeskens Kebano rasped the frame of the goal on either side of the half for their respective sides.
