Usman Abdallah who is a top Nigerian coach has expressed disappointment over the comment made by Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis about the African Cup of Nations.

Aurelio De Laurentiis while granting an interview explained that he will have to make African players sign an undertaking before hiring them that they won't play in the African Cup of Nations.

The comment has made many football lovers in many part of African nations angry and they have been attacking Aurelio De Laurentiis on social media.

According to the report on GOAL, Usman Abdallah explained that what Napoli owner said is not good enough and capable of bringing the game into disrepute.

“I think he needs to come out, to tell the truth, using the Africa Cup of Nations as a yardstick is not a good excuse.

“Are Napoli players not participating in Uefa Euro, Uefa Nations League and even Copa America? Or are they not the same as Afcon?
“It would have been understandable if he said Napoli’s African players who get injured at Afcon are not well taken care of, or maybe when their players play in the competition, they violate certain rules.''

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi lauded Mikel Obi for his achievements during his time with English Premier League club Chelsea.

Ndidi stated that he always looked up to the former Chelsea No.12, who was part of the Blues squad that won the coveted Champions League in 2012.
