Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are on the verge of stealing a march on Manchester City for top target Marc Cucurella, Sports Brief understands.
The Blues have offered Brighton and Hove Albion in excess of £50 million for the services of left-back Marc Cucurella.
Chelsea moved swiftly for the Brighton fullback following the Jules Kounde disappointment and are within touching distance of completing a long-term deal for the Spaniard.
Cucurella will sign a contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit valid until June 2028, a six-year deal after agreeing on personal terms with the club, reports transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.

He will be in London on Thursday morning together with his agents for his mandatory medical tests.
The 24-year-old was also a target for Manchester City but the reigning Premier League champions were unwilling to meet Brighton’s valuation of their prized asset.
