Ten Hag replaced Ronaldo at halftime, with his substitute Amad Diallo scoring almost immediately after the restart in a game that ended in a one-all draw.
Now, as Metro UK reports, Ten Hag has taken issue with Ronaldo's decision to leave the pitch early despite the club having released a statement clarifying that there was no problem.
The new manager has, however, confirmed that it wasn't only Ronaldo who left. The former Ajax boss said that he has told his players that he will not entertain such behaviour again.
I certainly don’t condone this. This is not acceptable.
For everyone. I told them that it was unacceptable. We are a team, a squad, and you should stay until the end.
Ronaldo has been involved in a transfer saga with United, with the renowned player looking to move on. He, however, hasn't found a club and is now set to remain at United, who get their Premier League campaign underway against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Dean Henderson criticises Manchester United for lying to him
Details emerge on how Man United players treated Cristiano Ronaldo after his return to Carrington
FootballSports Brief had earlier reported that Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson has taken a swipe at his parent club following his move to newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forrest.
Henderson slammed Man United for not redeeming their pledge of installing him as the first-choice goalkeeper at the club, playing second-fiddle to David De Gea last term.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper made a paltry three appearances for United in the 2021-22 season and following his season-long loan move to Forrest, Henderson did not mince words in expressing his frustrations.
