Former Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar is close to joining Brazilian outfit Flamengo, after nearly five years in the Chinese Super League.
Oscar left fans confused in 2017 when he decided to trade his lucrative career in Europe to move to the far east.
After spending five years at Chelsea, the Brazilian made the move to Shanghai SIPG, now Shanghai Port FC for a reported £60 million.
The move was seen as highly controversial, especially because he was only 25 at the time, and there was interest from Juventus, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan for his services.

In the Chinese Super League, he managed to feature 116 times, scoring 35 goals and registering 74 assists.
He also captained his team to a league title in 2018.
In 2022, he was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but football insider Fabrizio Romano reported on August 1 that Oscar was close to joining Flamengo instead.
This pic ‘leaked’ is true: here’s Oscar wearing Flamengo shirt, now waiting for final details to be resolved with Shanghai SIPG. Green light expected soon for the deal to be completed. Ronano said.
If the deal comes to fruition, Oscar will reunite with former teammate David Luiz at Flamengo.
In the past, Oscar has reiterated that his move to China was motivated by the fact that he had his family in mind.
It is estimated that the midfielder made more than £100 million in wages in his five and a half years in the Chinese Super League.
