Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson has taken a swipe at his parent club following his move to newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forrest.
Henderson slammed Man United for not redeeming their pledge of installing him as the first-choice goalkeeper at the club, playing second-fiddle to David De Gea last term.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper made a paltry three appearances for United in the 2021-22 season and following his season-long loan move to Forrest, Henderson did not mince words in expressing his frustrations.
Speaking to talkSPORT via givemesport, he said: “To be honest with you, it’s probably been the toughest 12 months of his career. It’s been tough. It’s been hard. I’m so happy I’m out here. I’m going to bed now so excited and I’m ready to go.

Henderson disclosed that he was promised to be the No.1 choice ahead of the 2021-22 season, however, a covid-19 setback will derail his dreams of manning the post for the Red Devils.
“The conversation I had, coming out of the Euro [2020] squad, was that you’re coming back here [Man United] to be the number one goalkeeper. I got covid – came back – so I should still have been number one, but unfortunately, no one followed through with anything they told me.

“It was frustrating. To sit there and waste 12 months is criminal really, at my age. I was fuming.
“But I worked hard at training to keep improving day-in, day-out, so I’m really excited to be back here and looking forward to the season with Forest.”
Premier League 'new boys' Nottingham Forrest sign Man United goalie Dean Henderson on loan

Henderson has been desperate to quit Old Trafford after he failed in his bid to unseat David de Gea as United's No.1.
According to The Sun, the shot-stopper was stuck on the bench behind De Gea at the Theatre of Dreams last season.
