FootballFIFA Orders NFF to Pay Former Super Eagles Coach Massive Sum of N157million
Nigerian Football Federation eggheads have been ordered by world's football governing body to pay former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr the sum of N157million after he was sacked last year.
Gernot Rohr lost his position as the Super Eagles coach in December 2021 which was just a month the African Cup of Nations which was held in Cameroon.
Those in charge of Nigerian football claimed that Gernot Rohr lost the control of the dressing room and that was why they had to let him leave.
Austin Eguavoen was then appointed Super Eagles coach on an interim capacity and led the players to the African Cup of Nations where they crashed out in the knockout stages.
Why is the NFF owing Gernot Rohr?
According to the report on Sun, the agreement between Gernot Rohr and the NFF was that would pay the German coach until the end of his contract which is December 2022.

Rohr is said to have reported the NFF to FIFA that they have not been paying him in which the football body then ruled.
Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr did not win any title as the Super Eagles coach before he was sacked.
Calvin Bassey Suspended For 2 Games in Holland as Reason Emerges
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey was suspended for two games in Holland after being red carded while playing for Ajax in their Super Cup defeat to PSV Eindhoven.
The 22-year-old defender recently joined Ajax and becomes the highest Nigerian signing in history breaking the record set by former Super Eagles star Taribo West.
