The article reported that several other items were taken from the 30-year-old during the ordeal. It also went on to state that the suspects involved in the crime were later arrested after allegedly using his bank card to buy alcohol in Soweto. Police apparently refused to confirm this report while the matter remained under investigation.
This comes after Pule said he hoped for an injury-free season after his 2021/22 campaign was hampered by various setbacks.
Tragically, former Bidvest Wits and Zimbabwean international player Charles Yohane was murdered during a hijacking in February. The 48-year-old Yohane had been working as an e-hailing driver when the crime occurred, with his body found on the side of the Soweto Highway.
In November 2021, former Buccaneers defender Patrick Phungwayo was arrested in connection with hijacking, housebreaking and being in possession of stolen property.
