Asamoah Gyan has been snubbed by former manager Steve Bruce after naming the top eighteen player he coached without the Ghanaian legend.

The former Ghana captain was Sunderland's star in 2010 when Steve Bruce was manager of the Black Cats.

However, in a list released by Steve Bruce, the striker could not find a place in the 18-man squad.

Asamoah Gyan scored ten goals in the English Premier League under Steve Bruce, but left after just a season to join Al Ain in the Gulf.

Despite carving a cult hero status in the eyes of the Sunderland fans, he could not impress Steve Bruce enough to make his team.

Meanwhile, his former Ghana teammate, John Mensah made the list after playing for two season under the English manager.

Mensah, first arrived at the Stadium of Light on loan from Lyon in 2009, and spent two season in England.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that father of Ghana's football icon Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan Mensah, has revealed how proud he is of his legendary son.

Asamoah Gyan is revered globally for his exploits in football, which includes holding the record of scoring the most goals as an African player at the World Cup.

In a video posted on social media, spotted by Sports Brief, Gyan's father expressed his admiration for his son, praising his achievements.
