Gor Mahia win KPL title three times in a row
Kenyan football giant and reigning Gor Mahia have successfully defended their Kenya Premier League title despite a rocky start at the beginning of the 2019 campaign.
K'Ogalo were confirmed champions 45 minutes into their match against Vihiga United in Machakos after their main challenger Bandari FC registered a goal less draw against Mathare United on Wednesday, May 22.

The now 18-times champions went into the match looking for a single point enough to help them lift the trophy for three times in a row.
On the other hand, the Mombasa club was under intense pressure to win their match against Mathare United and at the same time hoped the league leaders would lose.
After registering the barren draw which docked them to a second position with 62 points, Bandari's chance of clinching the KSh 4 million league tittle was literally blown away even before league leaders stepped into the pitch.
The huge put Gor Mahia at league summit with 70 points and came with opportunity for Gor Mahia to represent Kenya at the all important inter-club continental football set to begin later in 2019.
Having steered the team to semis of the 2018/2019 Confederation of Africa Football Confederation Cup competition, coach Hassan Oktay's first assignment would be re-enforcing weak departments.
